Designed as a digital buffer holding incoming data, the installation aims to create a physically tangible pause, suspending the viewer in an endless loading loop. Through video capture devices, such as low resolution webcams from the 2000s era, it reshapes physical reality into a visual static lag between past and present virtual fragments, feeding back into itself as a distorted media memory. Visitors don't just observe, they interact with the installation through their physical presence, blending their movement into real-time glitches.
The installation does not exist in a finished state but unfolds as a constant, ever-open dialogue. Through the presence of more than 16 video streams, a space is created where time and space lose their linearity, giving rise to a "non-place" where time loses its regularity.
The concept ties into the history of the Nike Air Max Dolce—introduced in the early 2000s but ahead of their time. We therefore created an installation reflecting on the notion of "being in the wrong place at the wrong time," where—by playing with caching, displacement, and distortion—the linearity of time and space is shattered, giving way to a chaotic realm where everything loses both meaning and form.
